Stereomicroscope

Stereomicroscopes are light microscopes. Due to their structure, they represent objects three-dimensionally. Since the magnification is not as extensive as that of a light microscope, a stereomicroscope is mainly used to view larger organisms.

Explanation for children: A stereomicroscope is used for slightly larger organisms. In its name there is the word "stereo", which means that stereomicroscopes produce a three-dimensional image. You feel as if you are standing in the same room as the living being.
